The Hurley US Open of Surfing kicks off this week in Huntington Beach. The event, which is billed as the largest surf contest in the world, attracts more than a quarter million spectators. Many an epic battle has been fought here: Curren vs. Occy, Slater vs. Beschen, Machado vs. Irons. Who will emerge triumphant? ...only time will tell.
